training: Investment Forum: Projects
& Finance
The key to unlocking
these opportunities is to develop effective
strategic finance models, and create value
for money in projects in Africa. The African
Investment Corporation has recognized
the need for innovative financing models
and has thus created an investment forum
focused introducing these models. More
than just an investment forum, participants
will have an opportunity to have their
projects analyzed, reviewed and further
developed by experts in the consulting,
banking and development finance industry.
Our goal with this forum is to provide
the participants with practical tools
and information which can be used immediately
in the implementation of their projects.
By the end of this forum, participants
should have a good understanding of the
viability of their projects and they should
have also established partnerships, and
determined the most viable source of finance.
- Project Finance & Project
Development: Overview of project
finance and its application to the participant's
projects.
- Working with Export Credit
Agencies: Presentation by Exim
Bank and staff on how to best leverage
their services and offerings.
- Building partnerships and
structuring joint-ventures:
Prospective partners will be invited
based on the projects in question. This
will enable the participants to negotiate
and lay the ground work for a potential
partnership with a U.S. supplier or
investor.
- Building the contingency
fund: Based on the project,
there will be a presentation done on
the Payment Contingency Fund (PCF) program.
This fund is developed for the finance
of key infrastructure projects, roads,
railways, ports, etc.
- Follow up Management: The
AiC will manage the follow process which
will last for 3 months after the forum.
The cost of the follow up is included
in the cost of the forum.
