The need for business consulting is driven by the proliferation of small to medium sized companies throughout Africa. Throughout the 1990's the waive of privatization had a great impact on development in Africa. Through the 90's, the African governments privatized companies thus creating a vibrant middle market. The pathway out of poverty for developing nations is the development of the private sector (World Bank). In developing countries, private enterprise is far and away the largest source of employment and investment and a significant source of government revenue (World Bank).
